External Advisory Board Spotlight: Daniel Gustafson

Daniel Gustafson, PhD, serves as the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) as Deputy Director-General for Programmes.

Joining the FAO in 1994, Gustafson led offices in India and Kenya before returning to the United States to serve as the director of the FAO Liaison Office for North America. In 2012, Gustafson was appointed director of the FAO Office of Support to Decentralization, where he led efforts to strengthen leadership of the organization’s country offices.

He has worked in agriculture and rural development for over 30 years.
